ABOUT US
Founded in 1951 by Melvin Kallenbach, Mel-Kay Electric has
long been regarded as one of Southern Indiana's leading
electrical contractors. Electrical installation for a significant
number of major industrial, commercial, and institutional
projects in the Tri-State area has been provided by Mel-Kay.
Our highly skilled electricians have been trained in accordance
with the standards required by the IBEW, and many of them
have advanced training in specialized areas to better meet the
needs of our customers. In addition, our work force of electricians and technicians is stable, and among the
finest and most professional in the electrical and communications

Linda Garrett - President
After spending 20 years under the tutelage of her father,
company founder Mel Kallenbach, Linda became Mel-Kay's president in 2004
and oversees the company's administrative, financial, personnel, and
strategic matters.

Louis Ames - Vice President
With over a quarter-century of experience in the electrical
construction field, Louis Ames is one of the Tri-State's most respected
construction professionals. Mr. Ames has served as president of
the local NECA chapter and he is responsible for operational matters,
project management, and project estimating at Mel-Kay.

Robin Putty - Project
Manager Robin has been designing, estimating, and managing
electrical construction projects in the Tri-State area for over 25
years. Mr. Putty holds a Master Electrician license and has
overseen some of the area's most visible projects (including
Evansville's Central Library, the Vanderburgh County Jail, and the Ivy
Tech expansion).

David Evans - Project
Manager Specializing in the detailed and critical area of
healthcare, David has been managing projects for Mel-Kay for over 10
years, including such notable projects as Deaconess Gateway and the
Deaconess Women's Hospital.

Scott Hartig, RCDD - Project
Manager Representing the third generation of the Kallenbach
family in the electrical construction business, Mr. Hartig, started at
Mel-Kay in 2005 after 9 years in the telecommunications industry.
Mr. Hartig holds BICSI's Registered Communications Distribution Designer
(RCDD) certification and is available to assist our customers with developing robust
standards-based voice/data/video distribution infrastructure. |
